We went to the famous annual festival at Kure, which is Kure Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Curry & Gourmet Festival 2025.
The Japanese marines prepared their warships for public visits, and over 50 Kure gourmet stalls gathered, offering Kure Maritime Self-Defense Force Curry, Kure Navy gourmet dishes, Kure oysters, and more. Also they have a “Kure Maritime Self-Defense Force Curry Buffet”, in which people can choose four kinds of curry from all 22 different kinds to compare.
The most memorable part for me is going into the marine ship, for the first time to see something that’s mechanical, industrial and of course humongous at zero distance. That’s a once in a lifetime experience for sure.
