We have posted information about the activities you can experience within the facility.
On the same premises, there is a hot spring facility called "Yukappe" where you can soak in hot water while admiring the beautiful scenery.
The book corner has approximately 5,000 books available for you to read.

We also introduce tourist facilities and noteworthy spots that are easy to visit before or after your visit to our facility.

    • Simple yet profound! Mölkky Play

      Mölkky is based on the traditional game "kyykkä" from the Karelia region of Finland.
      This sport was developed in 1996 by Lahden Paikka (then Tuoterengas).

      In its native Finland, it is a casual sport played while enjoying a sauna and a beer.
      The rules are very simple and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders.

      The Ogo Stick, which resembles a deer antler, was developed by the American company Ogo Sports.

      "Ikappe" means "good" in the Ibaraki dialect.

    • 『Fukuroda Falls』

      Fukuroda Falls, one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls, is a representative tourist spot in Ibaraki Prefecture, measuring 120m high and 73m wide.
      The scenery created by the seasonal changes in nature and the majestic waterfall is beautiful and worth seeing.
      In winter, you can see the fantastic "frozen waterfall" where the entire waterfall freezes over.
      It has also been designated as a national scenic spot.

      It is a coastline of rocky reefs and sandy beaches with scenic spots such as Tenpiyama, a low mountain named by Mitsukuni at an altitude of 21m, and Futatsujima, a landmark of Kitaibaraki.
      There is also a monument to Noguchi Ujo, who is known for children's songs such as "Seven Children," "Soap Bubbles," and "Red Shoes," as well as new folk songs such as "Isohara Bushi" and "Isohara Kouta."

    • 『Noguchi Ujo Memorial Museum』

      The Noguchi Ujo Memorial Museum was opened to commemorate the achievements of Noguchi Ujo, who was born in Kitaibaraki City and is considered one of Japan's three greatest children's song poets, and to pass them on to future generations.
      In addition, we preserve and exhibit historical materials such as folklore, cultural assets, and relics and documents that demonstrate the history of Kitaibaraki City.
      The purpose is to deepen knowledge and understanding of local history and culture and to promote culture.

    • 『Goura Beach』

      There are five large and small inlets formed by erosion from the rough waves of Pacific Ocean, and cliffs reaching up to 50 meters high continue along the coast.
      Known as a place beloved by Okakura Tenshin, it has also been selected as one of the "100 Best Beaches and 100 Best Soundscapes of Japan."
      In March 2014, the Okakura Tenshin Former House and Gardens, Daigoura and Kogoura, were designated as nationally registered monuments (places of scenic beauty and ruins).
      The majestic sight of five bays and the white waves of Pacific Ocean crashing against each other leaves a deep impression on visitors.

    • 『Izura Rokkakudo』

      This is a corner of the residence of Okakura Tenshin (Ibaraki University Izura Institute of Art and Culture), who made a great contribution to the development of modern Japanese art.
      A red hexagonal hall named "Kanrantei" was built on a rocky outcrop overlooking Pacific Ocean and was designed by Tenshin himself.
      The vermilion buildings, blue sea, and white waves look like a painting.
      It was washed away by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, but has been rebuilt and is now open to the public.
      It will be lit up from 6:30pm.

    • 『Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art, Ibaraki Prefecture』

      The Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art in Goura commemorates the achievements of artists from Goura, including Okakura Tenshin and Yokoyama Taikan.
      It opened on November 8, 1997 as a museum where visitors can appreciate outstanding works of art.
      Izura Beach is a historic place where the First Division (Painting) of the Japan Art Academy was relocated and where Okakura Tenshin and other artists from Izura were active.
      Near Izura Beach, there are many historical sites, such as the Rokkakudo and the former site of the Japan Art Institute, which still evoke the atmosphere of the time, making it a great place to enjoy a stroll.
