How to enjoy Toyo Town

This is Toyo Town of the sea and ponkan oranges.

A hidden gem of a place for sightseeing, surrounded by mountains, sea, and rivers, and rich in nature.
The area is blessed with an abundance of natural bounty, including ponkan and konatsu oranges nurtured by the warm sea breeze, and abundant seafood brought about by the rich Kuroshio Current.
Shirahama Beach is one of the best shallow beaches in Shikoku and is beautiful throughout the year.
Toyo Town also has one of the best surf spots in the country, attracting as many as 90,000 surfers every year.
Come and enjoy the joy and tranquility that Toyo Town has to offer.

  • Enjoy the 3-minute walk to the sea

    • Now, walk to Shirahama Beach!

      Shirahama Beach is a 3-minute walk from Oyado Fuku.
      The sea is within walking distance, so why not take a stroll down to the beach dressed lightly?
      Even if you go into the sea, there is an outdoor shower in the inn's garden.
      It's convenient and easy to wash off sand and salt.
      Depending on the time of day, the waves that are usually waist-high may go down,
      You can walk to Akaba Island at the back of the beach.
      It is also known as "Angel Road" and is a romantic road.
      Take this opportunity to walk there.

    • Toyo Town Beach"Shirahama Beach"

      The colour of the sea and the view from the sea are very beautiful.
      The shallow Shirahama Beach gives visitors a sense of calm.

    • If you come to Toyo Town, go to the "Sea Station"

      At Uri Sea Station you can get fresh tuna, bonito, and other seasonal seafood at reasonable prices.
      You'll be completely satisfied with your seafood here.
      You can also have the fence of your choice cut and eat it as a set meal.
      The Sea Station is a roadside station that is popular not only with tourists but also with locals.

    • Streets of Kouura, Toyo Town

      After enjoying buying and eating fresh fish and vegetables at the sea station,
      You can either return to the sea or take a walk home.
      On the way back, we recommend taking the route back through the town of Kouura instead of the way you came.
      There are houses built in the historical style of "bucho-zukuri" that remain.
      You can feel the nostalgic country atmosphere of this port town.

      It is a wooden door at the front of a house that can be folded up to become a shutter or lowered to become a veranda.
      When you come back from your walk, feel free to take a break here or have a drink or whatever you like.
