Living in harmony with people and nature

  • In order for people to return to their original role as "residents of the Earth," we aim to achieve harmony with nature, face our families,
We live together, supporting each other and interacting with trees, flowers, plants, animals, and fungi.

Aiming to create such a place, we carefully practice living in accordance with the mechanisms of life.
This reduces waste, enriches the soil, and encourages crops to thrive.
Whether breathing life into something or receiving life from it, be sure to be careful and meticulous...

Transform the little extra steps that you tend to avoid into moments of joy.
So that we can share such rich and irreplaceable times.
Rainbow Forest awaits you on Ishigaki Island.

【Rainbow Forest's Passion】

  • We would like to introduce you to Rainbow Forest's passion for coexistence between people and nature.
  • 1. Permaculture for a society where people and nature coexist

Permaculture is a word that originated in Australia and is a combination of the words permanent, agriculture, and culture.
Where do the food and water that are so important to our lives come from and where do they go?
Also, to understand how our daily lives relate to these things, so that we can nurture a richer life rather than causing pollution and destruction.
We aim to build a human society where people can share joy instead of fighting.
  • 2. Experience a special moment that can only be experienced here

We provide facilities and support so that even those who are new to camping can stay with peace of mind.
Guests can experience a variety of sensations that only those who stay overnight can feel.
  • 3.Rainbow Forest Passion Products

  • 4. Forest dwellers and friends

Rainbow Forest exists today thanks to our family and the many nature-loving friends who came together without even realizing it and helped run the business.

【Rainbow Forest Initiatives】

  • Rainbow Forest is taking various steps to protect the environment.
  • 1. Realizing a lifestyle that is in harmony with nature and enriches the environment

Instead of consuming nature, we want to return to being a part of it,
We aim to increase the number of living creatures and live a life that enriches the environment.
The Fukido River that flows alongside is part of the Earth's large water cycle, and our lives are also a part of it.
That's why we choose natural detergents and other amenities wherever possible and promote plastic-free practices.
We have intentionally kept development to a minimum, and are operating Ishigaki Island while preserving its original appearance.
  • 2. Staying overnight allows you to be part of nature"Circulation mechanism"

We have created a system where simply staying here supports sustainable tourism and nature conservation.
For example, compost piles are installed at each site.
The food waste generated by customers becomes compost, which then grows crops and is returned to the body as food.
You can experience this "circulation" naturally as part of your daily life.
We hope that the values you experience here will gradually spread to your daily life after your trip is over, taking it one step further than just a place to stay and making it a positive experience.
  • 3. Coexistence of environmental awareness and privacy

In order to protect the natural environment, we avoided excessive development and prioritized the privacy of our guests, so we decided to limit the number of guests to two per day.
The restaurant is passionate about locally produced food, and the guided tours are not just for fun, but also incorporate ecotourism, which encourages consideration for the environment and deepens learning.
A place where you can face nature in silence and remember that you too are part of the cycle.
    That's Rainbow Forest.
