The standing statue of Thousand Armed Kannon, which is said to be the work of Kobo Daishi, the oldest cave Buddha in Japan.
In the main hall, along with Senju Kannon, Shaka Triad, Yakushi Triad, and Amida Triad are arranged.
The ten bodies are collectively called Oya Cliff Buddha, and have been designated as a special national historic site and important cultural property.
Peace Kannon was carved to pray for the victims of the Pacific War and for world peace.
The Kannon statue is 27 meters high (88 shaku 8 sun 8 minutes) and is nicknamed "Oya no Kannon-san" by the locals.
