■Mandarin Duck Village
"Take a peek and see the beautiful mandarins playing in the water."
Mandarin ducks are a type of duck that are about 40cm long and have beautiful feathers.
Thanks to 50 years of conservation efforts, Kansa River, upstream of the Toyokawa River, has become a wintering ground for mandarin ducks, and now more than 400 of them can be seen.
They can usually be seen from mid-October to mid-April, but the best season to see them is from mid-November to early March.
If you wish to observe, please check the observation precautions in the rest area behind the parking lot, then proceed quietly to the observation hut at the back right.
