Hot Springs
Aomori hot spring"Asamushi Onsen”
Asamushi Onsen was originally called "Asamushi Onsen", and the name "Asamushi" comes from the fact that hemp was steamed in this hot spring.
It is said that the word ``mushi'' in ``masu'' is related to fire, so the word ``steam'' is associated with the Asamushi of a fire.
The origin of the hot spring dates back to 876 in the Heian period and is said to have been discovered by Jikaku Daishi Ennin.
For a while after its discovery, it was used only for steaming hemp, but it is said that Enko Daishi Honen visited in 1190 and encouraged the residents to take a bath.
Honen saw an injured deer begin to heal as soon as he took a bath, and knowing that the hot springs were highly effective, he encouraged local residents to do the same.
