Have Mutsu Bay all to yourself
Aomori hot spring"Asamushi Onsen”
Asamushi Onsen was originally called "Asamushi Onsen," and the name "Asamushi" comes from the fact that hemp was steamed in the hot springs here.
The character "steaming" in "Asamushi mushi" is related to fire, which is why it was associated with the disaster of fire, so the character "steaming" was omitted and replaced with "insect," resulting in the name "Asamushi."
The hot springs date back to 876 during Heian Period, and are said to have been discovered by Ennin, the founder of Jikaku Daishi.
For a while after its discovery, it was only used to steam hemp, but in 1190, Enko Master Honen Daishi, visited and encouraged the residents to take a bath there.
When Honen saw an injured deer being healed after bathing, he realized that the hot springs had great healing properties and encouraged local residents to do the same.
