  • Lake Kawaguchi Toy Museum Kitahara Museum

    Message from Teruhisa Kitahara

    Children eventually become adults.
Toys are one of the things that help us remember our childhood memories and dreams forever.I think what initially attracted me to tin toys was a simple feeling of nostalgia.
Tin toys, which began to be made as far back as the Meiji and Taisho eras, evolved and took on various shapes as time went on, and despite being made by hand, an astonishing amount was produced, but they gradually disappeared from sight.
We would like many people to see through these toys the customs and colors of those times, which have been vividly revived through the passage of time, transcending the whirlwinds of war and the passage of time.
There is sure to be an emotion that cannot be expressed by nostalgia alone.
