Chitose Chaya is one of the four tea houses that have been making "Chie no Mochi" (wisdom rice cakes) since their founding in 1690 Genroku 3).

The name Ryuto no Matsu is that of a legendary pine tree where, according to legend, a dragon descended upon Monju at the Kirito gate of Amanohashidate long ago.
