Access

90 minutes from the city center... It is the lake closest to Mt Fuji

Lake Yamanakako, located about a 90-minute drive from central Tokyo, is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes and the closest lake to Mt Fuji.Located at an altitude of just under 1,000m, slightly higher than the other four lakes, it is a cool and pleasant lake even in summer.It is the deepest of the five lakes and has a distinctive whale-like shape.

・Take Chuo Highway Bus from Shinjuku Station (120 minutes) and get off Yamanakako-mura Yakuba Mae (850m, 11 minutes walk).

The approximate travel time to Villa Clairiere is 105 minutes by car from Chuo Expressway, Tokyo (Eifuku), 95 minutes from Tomei Expressway, Tokyo (Setagaya), 4 hours and 5 minutes from Nagoya,
By train, take the Chuo Main Line Limited Express from Shinjuku, Otsuki to Fuji Kyuko Line, get off at Mt Fuji Station, then take a local bus for 145 minutes.
From Shinkansen in the direction of Nagoya, it takes 50 minutes by highway bus from Mishima Station, or 120 minutes by highway bus from Busta Shinjuku.

    【From Gotenba IC on the Tomei Expressway】
    National Route 138 for about 30 minutes to the lakeside.
    *If it is crowded, take the Higashi Fuji Five Lakes Expressway from Subashiri IC to Yamanakako IC.
    【From Fuji IC on the Tomei Expressway】
    Take National Route 139 around the Five Lakes and head to Shore of Lake Yamanaka.
    【From Kawaguchiko IC via Otsuki JCT on the Chuo Expressway】
    Take National Route 138 to Shore of Lake Yamanaka.
    *If it is crowded, take the Higashi Fuji Five Lakes Expressway from Kawaguchiko IC to Yamanakako IC.

    【From Tokyo】
    Take the Chuo Main Line from Otsuki Station to Fuji Kyuko Line, get off at Mt Fuji Station, and take a bus bound for Lake Yamanakako (about 45 minutes) and get off at the Ichinohashi bus stop.
    It's about a 3-minute walk towards Mt Fuji.
    【From Nagoya】
    Transfer to Fuji Kyuko Line from Otsuki Station on the Chuo Main Line, get off at Mt Fuji Station, and take a bus bound for Lake Yamanakako and get off at the Ichinohashi bus stop.
    It's about a 3-minute walk towards Mt Fuji.
    Alternatively, take the express bus (Mishima Kawaguchiko Liner) from Mishima Station Shinkansen.
    Get off at the bus stop "Mt Fuji Lake Yamanakako",Approximately 22 minutes on foot(1.6km)(Reservation required)

    【From Shinjuku Station West Exit】
    Take Chuo Highway Bus for just over two hours, get off at Shore of Lake Yamanaka bus stop "Yamanakako-mura Yakuba Mae" and walk for 11 minutes.
    【From Gotemba Station】
    Take the bus to Kawaguchiko Station (approximately 50 minutes), get off at the Ichinohashi bus stop, and walk for 3 minutes.
    【Shinkansen Mishima Station】
    Take JR to Gotemba Station.
    Take the bus to Kawaguchiko Station (approximately 50 minutes), get off at the Ichinohashi bus stop, and walk for 3 minutes.
    Alternatively, take the express bus "Mishima Kawaguchiko Liner" to the bus stop "Mt Fuji Lake Yamanakako" for 65 minutes.
    From there, take a local bus (to Gotemba) for 6 minutes, get off at "Ichinohashi" and walk for 3 minutes or 20 minutes.
